Request Information

The Jupiter SCARA Servo Robot Learning System teaches SCARA (Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm) servo robotics and their industrial applications. With features like a powerful programming language, industrial controller and high repeatability, it is ideal for teaching a wide variety of precision applications including electronic and mechanical component assembly.

The Jupiter SCARA Servo Robot Learning System includes a SCARA servo robot arm (4 axis DC electronic powered and controlled with a 2 point pneumatic gripper), Jupiter robot controller, teach pendant, online/off-line programming software, cable set, emergency stop assembly, student learning materials for theory and lab, teacher’s assessment guide, and installation manual. Extensive programming capability is provided with the powerful MCL II language, which includes up to 150 executable commands, more than three times the number of commands offered with typical educational robots. This programming capability combines with a multitasking controller, three programming frames, an intelligent teach pendant, high repeatability, and a flexible I/O interface to deliver an unparalleled learning experience.

Extensive Programming Capability- The Jupiter programming language, MCL II is a powerful language with 150 executable commands, more than three times the number of commands offered with typical education robots. The Jupiter can be programmed to perform a range of tasks from simple move sequences to more complex applications involving serial and Ethernet data communications. Easy-to-use Windows-based programming software is supplied, which allows students to program the robot on-line or off-line. Optional simulation software expands capabilities even further.

Intelligent Teach Pendant- The Jupiter uses the latest design in teach pendant technology with function keys called soft keys that take on a variety of functions according to a menu shown on the multi-line teach pendant display. The teach pendant becomes a hand-held programming terminal, enabling users to develop sequence programs as well as teach points.

3 Programming Frames- Teaching move points can be performed using any one of three coordinate systems: Cartesian, tool frame, and joint frame. This industrial feature enables users to quickly program new points in virtually any type of application because the robot can move in the coordinate frame of the application itself.

High Repeatability- The Jupiter has a high repeatability of 0.05mm because it has harmonic gear drives, high resolution encoders, infrared homing sensors, and multiple microprocessors. This industrial quality repeatability supports training of more precise industrial tasks such as assembly.

Quick Change Tooling (Optional)- The 860-RATC Quick Change Tooling Set can be added to the Jupiter robot to permit end effectors to be changed on the fly for highly sophisticated assembly applications requiring multiple end effector types. The Jupiter’s hefty 4.5 payload enables it to support the weight of the quick change tooling system and still have plenty of payload left over to pick up parts. Users can supply their own end effectors or choose from one or more of the many Amatrol options, which include: parallel grippers, glue systems, screwdrivers and vacuum lift.

Flexible Workstation With Interchangeable Work-surfaces (Optional)- Amatrol’s flexible workstation provides significant benefits to teachers and learners alike. Excellent organization and ergonomics combine with easy robot relocation. The patented workstation includes interchangeable work-surfaces, which enable students to set up projects away from the robot while other students are using the robot. The result is more students can use the robot, leaving tooling for long-term projects in place on separate work-surfaces.
