AC Electronic Drives Learning System – 85-MT10-1

Request Information

The Model 85-MT10-1 Electronic Drives Learning System teaches industrial AC electronic motor drives. These are used to provide accurate control of speed, position, and acceleration in applications such as CNC machine tools, conveyors, robots, mixers, and presses. Students will learn industry-relevant skills including how to operate, install, tune, and troubleshoot three major types of AC systems: AC vector-type spindle drives, AC servo axis drives, and AC variable frequency drives.

The model 85-MT10-1 includes a mobile workstation, power supply, isolation transformer, control station panel with control components and instrumentation, AC vector drive panel, AC servo drive panel, AC variable frequency drive panel, induction motor-inverter rated, AC servo motor, inertia load device, friction load device, student learning materials for both theory and lab, and teacher’s guide. This system uses industrial quality components to help students become better prepared for what they will encounter on the job and to withstand frequent student use.

The mobile workstation consists of a sturdy welded-steel frame with interchangeable drive panels and motors, enabling students to quickly set up different drive applications. Safety is emphasized throughout the curriculum using lockout/tagout, emergency stop pushbutton, safety disconnect switch, and rotating machine guards.

Fault insertion capability is also a standard feature of the 85-MT10-1 System. Faults can be manually inserted throughout the system components to provide students with real-world troubleshooting experience. Terminal strip test points are available at key locations to aid students in their troubleshooting process without damage to the equipment.

Additional panels can be added to the 85-MT10-1 System to provide DC electronic drive and CNC control learning.
