Mechanical fabrication plays an important role in today’s economy as the cost to produce goods increases and the profit margins shrink. The 96-MPF1 Mechanical Fabrication 1 Learning System includes a workstation, precision fabrication parts set, mechanical fabrication tool set, standard parts set, student curriculum in printed and interactive CD formats, instructor’s assessment guide, and installation guide. Amatrol combines equipment, strong print-based curriculum, and interactive multimedia so that students can learn mechanical fabrication skills in the style they need.

Industry Skills

The 96-MPF1 covers industry-relevant mechanical fabrication skills. Amatrol’s Mechanical Fabrication 1 Learning System teaches fundamental skills required for mechanical assembly. Students learn about the many types of bolts, wrenches and other fittings commonly used in industry and how to properly apply them. This includes pneumatic fabrication fittings. This learning system covers step by step instructions for installation and checking the connections. For example, testing fittings with air and a liquid soap solution determines if a pressure type seal has been made (shown at right). This technique is often used in industry because there is too much noise on the plant floor to hear a leak and determine its precise location.

Quick Setup/Cleanup and Easy Inventory

Tools are placed on a steel mounted panel with silk-screened labels and magnetic tool holders to ensure quick, easy setup and cleanup. This learning system helps instructors quickly inventory components and minimize loss and damage of components. Storage bins with lids and dividers help to ensure that all parts and loose accessories are kept organized and contained.

Interactive Multimedia

In addition to Amatrol’s print-based curriculum, the 96-MPF1 includes highly interactive multimedia. The Mechanical Fabrication 1 Learning System includes interactive computer-based instruction with both theory and hands-on tutorials consisting of text, digital video, voice, online self-review tests, interactive simulations, color diagrams and color photos.
